Where it all began...
The earliest drawings I remember making as a child were waves crashing on the beach. As a teen, my first commission was a series of ten watercolors of the shore. Then in high school I produced a body of work concentrating on seascapes. At Palomar College watercolor became my specialty. I learned about paper, preparation and other techniques. Working mostly from primary colors, I love to mix nuanced greys and to watch them blend and separate on the page.
I received a compliment that my palette was "colorful but not bright." In all of the art to come, fluidity and color sensitivity remain key.
